III Two brief examples from Part I of the DVD showing ATM exploration in a group followed by application in Functional Integration
(1) Reference movements familiar from a lesson called Differentiation of pelvis and chest. A traditional lesson becomes a kind of Self-FI when arm or leg (or both) are supported by a yellow EGGball, demonstrating how “doing the same thing differently” (one of Moshe Feldenkrais definitions of learning) enhances playfulness and increased mobility.

(2) APPLICATION. The session with MARGARET lying on her side on a regular table was inspired by a video showing Moshe. With a person’s wrist clamped between his knees he could mobilise her body by gently moving his pelvis forward and back while his hands were free to guide her awareness to places which needed to become part of her kinesthetic self-image.
Margaret’s wish was to relearn secure equilibrium (esp. when walking along busy streets) which she had lost after brain injury
(3) Exploring the mobility of pelvis and spine connecting pelvis, neck, and head; improving self-organization & finding an effortless way of getting up from a chair

(4) APPLICATION : Session with Leila sitting on chair
